bio:
Dot Iso is a NYC-based trio performing mostly improvised music, as well as compositions by its members and established figures. Formed in 2021 and comprised of Vivek Menon (violin), Dylan DelGiudice (guitar & saxophone), and Orchid McRae (percussion) the trio is deeply collaborative, often rehearsing overnight for several hours of continuous improvised performance. Vivek Menon has performed on records by internationally recognized electronic music producers such as Iglooghost and Daedelus and is nearing completion of his DMA from Stony Brook University. Dylan DelGiudice performs in many contexts around NYC, including in improvised music, jazz, hip hop and musical theater. He has recently come off an international Broadway tour of Chicago: The Musical and released a hip hop project, “Urban Garden,” under the alias Bobby Del G. Orchid McRae is an active composer and performer of creative and improvised music in NYC. Current projects include the ensembles orchiddBB and 5 Ribbons. Her recent works fixate on established media tropes, theatric gestures, and humor/sublimation. In Dot Iso, the groups' members form a unique sound that isn’t beholden to any one genre’s structures and conventions. They plan to release their debut record “I Read Too Many Things” in 2024.
